Boddam Primary School is situated in the village of Boddam, 3 miles from Peterhead. The school is non-denominational and the catchment area is the village of Boddam and the surrounding rural area. 

The original school has six classrooms, one of which is used by the Nursery; one is a Library, one Music/Resource Room and one General Purpose Room. The extension completed in 1960 has two classrooms and the extension completed in 1980 has a further two classrooms. The School has two tarmac playground areas.

Currently, Boddam Primary School has six full time equivalent staff, including Head Teacher and Nursery Teacher. Throughout the year, a variety of specialist teachers support the school. The teaching team is supported by two classroom assistants, one part-time administrator, one nursery nurse, one part-time janitor, one playground supervisor, one lunchtime auxiliary, one part-time clerical assistant, three part-time SFL auxiliaries, kitchen and cleaning staff.

On leaving Boddam Primary School pupils transfer to Peterhead Academy.

Community links are a valuable part of school life. The School has a supportive and active PTA. Local Businesses support the School.

Boddam Playgroup, Lower Public Hall, Church Place, Boddam, Peterhead,
AB42 3NB.   Tel.: 01779 490826.   The playgroup session starts at 9.00 until 11.30 Monday to Friday and 11.15 to 14.45 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during school term.  We cater for children aged between 2.5 - 5 years. There is a placement cost of £4.40 per session. 

A 2's Group for children between the ages of 2 and 3 years takes place on Wednesday 12.45 to 14.45 pm and Thursday and Friday mornings from 9.30 to 11.30 am. The cost of the 2's group session is £4.40 per session.

Lunch Club is daily 11.30 - 12.15 at a cost of £1.50. Parents provide a packed lunch.

Boddam Playgroup employs two members of staff, one of whom is a qualified Nursery Nurse and both hold a current First Aid Certificate. One is working towards a Nursery Nurse qualification.

Boddam Playgroup is registered with the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care and are in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council to offer ante-pre-school and pre-school places for children in the local area.

Boddam Mums + Tots

Boddam Mums and Tots runs every Wednesday from 9.30 a.m. until 12.15 p.m. in the Boddam Public Hall. Cost : £1.50 per family which includes tea/coffee, juice and biscuits.

We look forward to meeting new and existing mums on a Wednesday. We have a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Hickory Dickory Tots Nursery and Out of School Club

Hickory Dickory Tots provides childcare for 48 children from 0 - 12 years old, we can provide childcare for 12 children aged 0 - 2 years, 24 2 - 5 year olds and 12 primary aged children at anyone time. We provide art and craft experiences for our pre school children along with outdoor experiences, role play, stories, songs etc. For our school aged children we provide art and craft experiences, computer play, board games, out door experiences and a chance to do homework if they so wish.

We are open from 7am until 6.30pm Monday to Friday. The Out of School Group operates between the hours of 7am and 9am and then 2.15pm - 6.30pm but during holidays, in-service days and school closures we operate between the hours of 7am and 6.30pm.

Boddam has two sports fields, one the original Pleasure Park at Stirling Village and the other being the former RAF sports area.

Braeside Trout Fishery, Highfield, Upper Stirlingbrae, Boddam, Peterhead.  Tel. 01779 473903. 
Braeside Trout Fishery covers 2.5 acres of clear spring-fed water that varies in depth from 3 to 15 feet. The venue is located just 3 miles south of Peterhead on the top of Stirlinghill via Lendrum Terrace and offers fly fishing for rainbow trout, brook trout and brown trout. Braeside is fly fishing only with a rod limit of 20 and is open from 8.00 am to dusk ( or 10.00 pm) although other time arrangements can be made with prior notice. The fishery is well stocked with hard fighting rainbow trout which range from 1 lb 8 oz to 8 lbs. Facilities include a heated fishing hut with gas and electricity. Free tea and coffee. Car park. Flush Toilet. Disabled parking at the edge of the water.

Former Site of Royal Air Force Buchan

After 52 years, RAF Buchan closed in March, 2005. Part of the site was taken over in March, 2005 by Highland Reserve Forces' and Cadets' Association. The larger part of the site has recently been bought by a developer who is ex-RAF and plans are being made to develop and integrate it into the village of Boddam.

The 22 remaining RAF personnel are based at Remote Radar Head, Buchan, Longhaven, Aberdeenshire.
